Several rumours have been circulating in the past few months about the third instalment of Aanand L Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu, including one about R Madhavan being approached for the film. However, in an exclusive conversation with SCREEN recently, Madhavan, who is gearing up for his next ZEE5 project Hisaab Barabar, has denied being approached for the movie.
When asked if Tanu Weds Manu will feature Kangana in a triple role alongside him, Madhavan aka Maddy responded, “As much as I would like to talk about it, I really have no idea. It has just been on Instagram. The media and people are asking me these questions. Neither Anand nor anybody else has talked to me about part three.”
The actor also shared his suspicion that he has been replaced in Tanu Weds Manu 3. “I have no clue and I don’t know what the script is. Maybe I am not there in it. Maybe they have replaced me. I haven’t got the faintest idea,” he added.
Anand L Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu released in 2011 and the second instalment Tanu Weds Manu Returns hit the big screen in 2015. Besides Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut, the movies have featured Jimmy Sheirgill, Deepak Dobriyal, Swara Bhaskar, and Eijaz Khan.
