Filmmaker Muzaffar Ali waited for six months to sign Lahore-based actor Imran Abbas for “Jaanissar”.

The film, which is set in year 1877, deals with a love story in which the boy is westernised and the girl is deeply rooted in the ethos of Indian culture.

“When Muzaffar saab approached me for the role, I immediately said yes. I was instantly drawn towards the script and wanted to be a part of it. I am also thankful to Muzaffar saab to wait for six months as I had other commitments to finish,” Imran, who made his Bollywood debut with 2014 film “Creature 3D”, told IANS.
