Man ends life on Bengaluru Metro tracks, Purple Line services hit

Services on Bengaluru Metro’s Purple Line were hit on Friday morning after a 38-year-old man allegedly died by suicide on the tracks at Kengeri Metro Station.

According to the police, the incident took place at 8.20 am, and the body of the victim, identified as Shantana Gowda Patil, a native of Vijayapura, was later transported to a nearby private hospital for post-mortem examination.

Patil, a factory worker in Bidadi, held an engineering degree and was reportedly upset over financial issues, according to his wife Preethi.

Train services continued only up to Mysuru Road, while a response team comprising BMRCL staff, police personnel, and paramedics worked to recover the body from the tracks.
