Kalki Koechlin, Shiv Pandit to act in ‘Mantra’

Directed by debutant Nicholas Khargonkor, ‘Mantra’ also stars Adil Hussain and Canadian actor Lucien Dube.

Known for her unconventional roles, Kalki Koechlin recently surprised the audience as a cerebral palsy patient in the coming of age film ‘Margarita With A Straw’. Now the actress is all set to star in a novel drama titled ‘Mantra’.

She plays the daughter of an industrialist portrayed by Rajat Kapoor. However, the details of her character are still being kept under wraps. Rajat, on the other hand, mentioned that the film will explore the social and political impact when India’s economy was liberated. Set in the 90s, the story of the film is based in Delhi. We also hear that the name ‘Mantra’ is inspired by a restaurant’s name in the film.
