‘Diljit Dosanjh is a Shiv bhakt, constantly chants Om Namah Shivay,’ says Crew actor Trupti Khamkar

Trupti Khamkar, who starred alongside Diljit Dosanjh in Crew, said that the actor is very spiritual and humble.

Crew actor Trupti Khamkar spoke about her experience of working with Diljit Dosanjh.

Kareena Kapoor, Tabu and Kriti Sanon-starrer Crew has been in the theatres for two weeks and has received a lot of love from the audience. Trupti Khamkar, who plays a cop in the film, recently spoke about her experience during the shoot and shared that this was an opportunity for her as she got to work with many stars. Trupti shared the screen with Diljit for many of her scenes and praised the actor and called him “spiritual.”

Trupti said that Diljit is a “Shiv bhakt” who “constantly chants Om Namah Shivay.” Trupti shared with The Free Press Journal, “I would definitely like to work with Diljit again. He is the most God-like person I’ve ever met. He comes with the most amount of humility. He is a Shiv bhakt and he constantly chants Om Namah Shivay. When you are around him, you feel like you are in a temple, near God. He is very spiritual.”

Trupti added that she wants to be like Diljit and said, “Diljit is, of course, an amazing actor, and he is never not there. Even in between scenes, he looks into your eyes. I want to be like him. If I become only 10 per cent of what he is, mujhe lagega maine duniya jeet li hai (I’ll fell like I have done something). He is ‘Dil-Jeet’ in a real sense.”

In the same interview, Trupti also said that during the shoot, director Rajesh A Krishnan assured her that she had an “even bigger role” than Diljit Dosanjh, but she assumed that he was saying so in jest. “During the shoot, the director (Rajesh A Krishnan) told me that my role is very important, even bigger than Diljit Dosanjh. I thought he was just fooling me and wanted to make me happy. But when I saw the film, I was surprised and that is when I understood that he was not lying,” she shared. Diljit has a cameo in the film.

Crew is a heist-comedy which also stars Kapil Sharma.
