CBFC and Pahlaj Nihalani get trolled on Twitter after they object to bra scene in Baar Baar Dekho

Censor Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) has asked the makers of Baar Baar Dekho to cut bra scene and Savitri Bhabhi reference from the film. Twitterati was quick to pour their hilarious reactions on the subject as soon as the news came out.

Baar Baar Dekho starring Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra has been granted a ‘UA’ certification by the Censor Board Of Film Certification (CBFC). This, however, came with two cuts. And to the surprise of many, the two edits suggested by the CBFC, came across as just ‘silly’. Firstly, the censor board has asked the makers to remove a ‘bra’ visual and in another instance, the reference of ‘Savita Bhabhi’ needs to be cropped too.

While many kept blaming the CBFC for its autocratic decision one more time, the Twitterati was quick to pour their hilarious reactions on the subject as soon as the news came out. The hashtags including #SanskariCBFC #baarbaardekho kept the Twitter abuzz for hours. Some shared angry tweets, while others made fun saying, “#BaarBaarDekho sounds like Bra bra dekho to CBFC.”

Another user shared, “#BaarBaarDekho sounds like Bra bra dekho to CBFC.” Another interesting troll read, “#CBFC has got #savitabhabi to trend! #BaarBaarDekho.”

This is not the first time that CBFC and particularly its Chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani have been trolled by the Twitterati. A few weeks ago, CBFC wanted to remove all the cuss words and references to ‘Punjab’ from the film Udta Punjab. The entire film industry came out in unison to support the movie. Udta Punjab was finally cleared by the CBFC with just one cut. It seems the whole controversy is just not enough to stop CBFC from making silly interferences.

Baar Baar Dekho is not the first movie which has shown a visual of ‘bra’. There was a scene of the piece of lingerie in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge way back in 1995. Even this year’s hit film Kapoor And Sons had an entire sequence between Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt making fun of a ‘bra’, which easily got the clearance of the board. Considering we still see those scenes in the movies, one can only wonder if things are worsening by the day?
