Baby John Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 5: Varun Dhawan’s film fails to cash in on the weekend, earns Rs 36 cr

Baby John Box Office Collection Day 5:Varun Dhawan’s massy actioner Baby John, directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, looked quite promising with its trailer and teaser but has failed to deliver at the box office. Despite getting an extended weekend and a festive release, Baby John failed to bring the audience to the theaters. Right after its day of release (25th December), the Varun Dhawan film saw a significant drop in its box office numbers. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Baby John performed slightly better on Sunday than on Saturday, the film collected Rs 4.75 crores. After five days, Baby’s John’s total collection in India is Rs 28.65 crores.

The film’s nett collection at the domestic box office is Rs 23.9 crores, while its gross India collection is Rs 28.7 crores. Overseas Varun’s Baby John has earned Rs 8 crores, according to Sacnilk. The Atlee-produced film’s worldwide collection is Rs 36.7 crores. Reportedly, the film has been made on a budget of Rs 160 crores, and with its performance at the box office, it looks highly unlikely for Baby John to recover its base cost too.

On Sunday the film’s overall occupancy was 17.38 percent with maximum footfalls in evening shows. Baby John has 3,490 shows running all over India, its highest occupancy coming from Chennai which is 39.75 percent with 69 shows. Pune takes the second spot with 24.25 percent with 213 shows. The occupancy in Mumbai was 23.75 percent with 563 shows while in Delhi NCR the film’s occupancy was 13.75 percent with 921 shows.

Usually Christmas releases are reserved for Aamir Khan, with Varun taking this year. Baby John has had the highest opening day collection in remakes, it is also Varun’s best-ever opening at the box office in the last five years. Baby John is the Hindi adaptation of Atlee’s Tamil blockbuster from 2016 – Theri.

Other than Varun, the film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jacki Shroff in important roles. Salman Khan has a special cameo in the film too. The film is directed by Kalees and produced by A for Apple Productions, Cine1 Studios, and Jio Studios.
