Aryan Khan’s Ba**ds of Bollywood breaks into Netflix’s global top 10, beats Black Warrant and Kapil Sharma but trails Heeramandi
Aryan Khan's The Ba***ds of Bollywood Netflix viewership: The satirical comedy, set in the world of Hindi cinema, took the fourth spot on Netflix's global non-English charts in its debut week.

The past week’s Netflix viewership figures are out, and Aryan Khan’s big-ticket debut series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, claimed the fourth spot on the streamer’s global chart for non-English shows. The satirical comedy, set in an exaggerated version of the Hindi film industry, accumulated 2.8 million views in its first week, and finished behind the Korean mega-hit Bon Appetit, Your Majesty; Billionaires’ Bunker; and The Dead Girls. Created by the people behind Money Heist, Billionaires’ Bunker accumulated 3.7 million views in its first week, around half of what Bon Appetit accumulated in its fifth week.
By comparison, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi raked in 4.5 million views in its first week of release last year, finishing second on the same chart. The Ba***ds of Bollywood is perhaps the biggest Indian original series that Netflix has released since then, although it was an acquisition, and not produced internally. The show, which has received largely positive reviews, features Lakshya Lalwani in the lead role of an up-and-coming Bollywood star, alongside Raghav Juyal as his best friend, Mona Singh as his mother, and Anya Singh as his manager. Bobby Deol, Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa, Manish Chaudhary, and Karan Johar play important supporting roles.

In the past week, The Ba***ds of Bollywood beat out other international shows such as You and Everything Else, Two Graves, Maledictions, and Love is Blind: France. Over on the English-language chart, the second season of Wednesday accumulated 7.2 million views in its seventh week, while the new release Black Rabbit accumulated 6.6 million views. Interestingly, the breakout hit Adolescence, which swept the Emmys last week, had a spike in viewership. It ended up doing better than The Ba***ds of Bollywood, gathering 3.6 million views, despite having a shorter run time.

The Ba***ds of Bollywood’s opening week viewership is in the same range as that of The Great Indian Kapil Show last year; the comedy variety series debuted with 2.5 million views. Maamla Legal Hai debuted with 1.1 million views in week one, while this year’s Black Warrant and Saare Jahan Se Acha had 2.3 million views in week one, and Mandala Murders debuted with 1.9 million views. The Ba***ds of Bollywood made the top 10 list in 14 countries, including India, Pakistan, Canada, Singapore, UAE, Bangladesh, and more.
