Director AR Murugadoss is returning to Bollywood after a long hiatus with Salman Khan’s Sikandar. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role. Recently, in an interview, AR Murugadoss spoke about Sikandar and working with Salman Khan. He shared that just like Aamir Khan’s Ghajini, Salman Khan’s Sikandar also has a soul, he also spoke about shooting with Salman Khan amidst death threats.
Talking about Salman Khan’s role in Sikandar, AR Murugadoss shared that since he is a fan-favorite superstar and brought a certain weightage to the character, he was the ideal choice. He even went on to share that the film has quite a massive scale and they would often have 10 to 20 thousand people on set. Calling his experience of working with Salman different, Murugadoss also pointed out how managing huge crowds needs high security and intense coordination. Also given that Salman was receiving death threats the shooting had become more hectic.
AR Murugadoss recalled that after Salman got the death threats, security on the set was beefed up, and checking all extra artists on the sets every day would take 2-3 hours, their entry and checkups would consume major parts of the day. Due to this they would start shooting late and end by early morning. He even recalled that this took a toll on their biological clock, but eventually they adjusted to it.
Rashmika will be seen playing Salman Khan’s wife in the film. Sikandar is slated to be released around Eid on 28th March.
