Amitabh Bachchan sells apartment for Rs 83 cr, three years after buying it for Rs 31 cr

Prior to selling off the property, Amitabh Bachchan had given the house on rent to actress Kriti Sanon in November 2021, few months after his purchase. The actress paid a rent of Rs 10 lakh per month. According to IGR lease, the security deposit paid by the actress was about Rs 60 lakh.

The property sold was spread over a built-up area of 5704 square feet with a carpet area of 5,185 square feet.

This is not the only property that the veteran star owned in Oshiwara. In 2024, Amitabh Bachchan and his family reportedly invested over Rs 100 crore in real estate. They primarily focused on residential and commercial properties in Oshiwara and Magathane in Mumbai.

GQ Indian reported, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan together bought about 10 apartments worth Rs 24.95 crore in Mumbai’s Mulund area in 2024. The Bachchan family’s net worth is said to be Rs 1600 crore, according to Hurun India. Apart from the apartments, they own five bungalows in Mumbai: Jalsa, Pratiksha, Vatsa, Janak and an 8,000 square feet home property behind Jalsa.

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen playing Ashwatthama in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki: 2898 AD, starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles.
