Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are gearing up for the release of their upcoming film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and the duo is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the film is a hit. As such, they recently appeared on YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia’s podcast, The Ranveer Show. Among other things, Akshay also recalled how he broke his back after lifting The Undertaker in Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi(1996).

Akshay shared, “Mujhe bhi yaad hai (the film) aur meri peeth ko bhi yaad haiToot gayi thi usko (The Undertaker) uthaya tha (I vividly remember the experience, as does my back. I suffered a broken back after lifting The Undertaker). I lifted him, I was mad. He was somewhere around 425 pounds or something and we went ahead and I decided ki, ‘okay utha loonga‘ (I will lift him).

Although the stunt took a toll on Akshay’s body, he maintained a positive attitude, stating, “Kar toh liya, sab kuch ho gaya. Teen din baad, ‘khadak’ kuch bol gaya. Then I had a slipped disc… Abhi bahot behtareen hai (Everything worked out, but my back eventually gave out). After enduring a slipped disc, I found solace in hydro-therapy, a treatment that involved running and exercising in water. It greatly improved his condition.

In 2021, when the film marked 25 years since its release, Akshay revealed on X, formerly Twitter, “A hilarious note to mark 25 years to the release of #KhiladiyonKaKhiladi tomorrow!” Akshay Kumar wrote in his post before adding a little trivia. “A fun fact though: it was wrestler Brian Lee who played The Undertaker in the film,” he wrote. Reacting to the post, Mark Calaway, the real Undertaker, commented, “Ha! Tell me when you are ready for a REAL rematch.” Akshay, in response, wrote, “Let me check on my insurance, and get back, bro!”

It was wrestler Brian Lee, not the real Undertaker (Mark William Calaway), who faced off against Akshay in Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi. Starring Rekha and Raveena Tandon, the movie remains a highlight of Akshay’s illustrious career in action-packed cinema.

As the anticipation builds for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, fans eagerly await the duo’s on-screen chemistry. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film has already generated buzz with its thrilling action sequences and star-studded cast and will have a theatrical release on April 10.
