Music composer duo Ajay-Atul have delivered some superhit songs and their latest song “Jai Shri Ram” in Om Raut’s upcoming film Adipurush has been trending on several music platforms. And, this craze around the song scares the musical duo as going forward they would be asked to create something better than “Jai Shri Ram”. Also, Ajay-Atul have watched the Prabhas starrer and are in awe of the film.

Speaking to B4U Entertainment, Ajay explained why the humongous success of “Jai Shri Ram” makes them both happy and scared. He said, “When Zingaat came, everyone was scared of that song, except us. But then we were told to make a song that can beat Zingaat. But even we couldn’t do it. Zingaat was a scary song. And now, Jai Shri Ram is a scary song.”

Ajay continued, “You always have to raise your bar and go forward from where you are. You cannot always celebrate (past laurels). Every day comes with new challenges and you expect something new from yourself and we always choose something like that.”

Ajay revealed that when a filmmaker approaches them, they are always given a reference of one of their songs only. But for “Jai Shri Ram”, they had no reference. “We also didn’t have the reference of someone else’s work in this. Though some great songs have been made (on Lord Ram), but when it comes to cinematic language, we are the first. So, we were not scared of any comparison and were happy to create our own canvas,” he shared.

Adipurush, which will hit theatres on Friday, is a retelling of the Hindu epic Ramayan. It narrates the tale of Lord Ram’s valour. Prabhas essays the role of Raghava in the film. Kriti Sanon plays Janaki, Sunny Singh is Laxman and Saif Ali Khan will be seen as Ravan.

Asked how they felt after watching the film, Ajay shared, “How we should feel while watching it, get goosebumps and feel proud, happy, you feel like clapping, all of that happened with us and we actually did that. We were shouting, clapping, screaming.”
