Top 10 dental colleges in India: NIRF 2024 Rankings

NIRF Dental Ranking 2024: In 2023 and 2022, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai bagged the first spot. The institution was ranked at 3 and 4 positions in the Dental category of NIRF rankings 2021 and 2020 respectively.

NIRF 2023 Best Dental Colleges: The Education Ministry on Monday released the Indian Ranking Report for 2024 in a press conference. Under the dental category, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences grabbed the first rank followed by Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, and King George`s Medical University.

Here are the top 10 dental colleges in the country 

1. Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences

2. Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal

3. Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences

4. King George`s Medical University

5. Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth

6. A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences

7. SRM Dental College

8. Jamia Millia Islamia

9. Siksha `O` Anusandhan

10. Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research

In 2023 and 2022, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai bagged the first spot. The institution was ranked at 3 and 4 positions in the Dental category of NIRF ranking 2021 and 2020 respectively.

The second spot was secured by the Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal in 2023 obtaining a 77.51 score points. Even Manipal has been ranking second consecutively for 2 years. Additionally, it is the first private dental medical college in India to be make to the list in 2022 and 2023.

Dr DY Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune secured the third spot in 2023 with a score point of 73.08, followed by Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, Delhi bagging the fourth position consecutively since 2021 in the dental category. 

The fifth position in 2023 was obtained by AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore with 69.21 points improving its ranking from sixth position in 2022.

Additionally, in the previous year’s ranking, Jamia Millia Islamia secured a position in the top 10 for the first time. It was positioned in the 16 spot in the 2022 for the dental category and secured 20 rank in 2021. This year the college secured eighth position in the list.
