I have always wanted to become a doctor like my grandfather. This journey was not at all easy for me. I appeared for my first attempt in NEET UG in 2021 but failed miserably. Then I took a drop of one year to prepare for NEET with utmost dedication. From 427 in NEET UG 2021, I managed to score 634 marks in 2022.
After my Class 10 exam was over, I started my preparation for the medical entrance test. However, after my first attempt at NEET was not worthwhile, I started paying attention again to all the shortcomings in my next attempt.
I made short notes for each of the topics in NEET. My NEET UG marks improved in my second attempt only because of the short notes I made. I also used to jot down the important points and keep on revising them.
I focussed on the NCERT books and read them very well. I ensured to read the NCERT by heart.
After my syllabus was complete, I started taking mock tests. Instead of taking mock tests online, I relied on appearing for the mock tests in offline mode as the actual NEET UG is held as a pen and paper-based test.
I analysed my mistakes in the NEET UG mock test and also maintained a ‘mistake book’. I used to see and check what mistakes I made in my previous test and made sure I did not repeat the same mistakes.
No matter what exam we take – either NEET or any other competitive exam, it is very important to focus on the goal. You will find many people who will divert you from the path. But you should not deviate from your goal and move ahead.
Exam day is very important for all. Therefore, do not spoil your exam and give it in a better way. If you do not understand any questions, do not panic. This can spoil your entire exam.
