IIT Madras invites applications for summer fellowship programme

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT M) is inviting applications for its summer fellowship programme. Interested candidates can apply for the fellowship programme at the official IIT Madras website — sfp.iitm.ac.in. 

Candidates will have time till 5 pm of March 31 to apply for the IIT Madras summer fellowship programme.

This summer fellowship by IIT Madras is a two-month-long programme that will begin on May 22 and conclude on July 21, 2024. However, the schedule may be flexible to suit student’s convenience, an official statement from the institute clarified.

Eligibility and stipend

A sum of Rs 6000 per month will be given as a stipend for a maximum period of two months to all the selected candidates.

IIT students are not eligible to apply for this summer fellowship programme.

Candidates pursuing a third year of BE /BTech /BSc (Engineering) or third or fourth year of Integrated ME /MTech programme, first year of ME/ MTech/ MSc/ MA, MBA with outstanding academic background in terms of high ranks in university examinations are encouraged to apply, highlighting their academic performance and achievement including papers presented at seminars, projects executed, design contests participated, score/ rank in Mathematics Olympiad and any other awards/distinctions obtained.

The engineering departments that will be participating in this summer fellowship programme are: Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering, Bio Technology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Engineering Design, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science and Technology, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering and Ocean Engineering.
