The 2025 BTech placements, in particular, underline a year of recovery and expansion for the institute. Undergraduate placement crossed the 90 per cent mark, the highest in the three years since 2023, while the top domestic package climbed to an all-time high.
Compared to both 2023 and 2024, while both years recorded healthy recruitment, they also reflected the challenges of a fluctuating job market, particularly for non-circuital branches and dual degree programmes. Average salaries, placement percentages, and participation levels varied across streams, offering a benchmark against which the 2025 outcomes clearly stand out.
According to placement data from IIT Bhubaneswar, the 2025 undergraduate placement season saw 315 BTech students register, with 282 participating in the process. Of these, 254 students had secured offers at the time of reporting, translating into a placement rate of 90.07 per cent. Placements were scheduled to continue until the end of July 2025.
The highest domestic CTC touched Rs 67.6 lakh per annum, the highest ever recorded at IIT Bhubaneswar. Core PSUs such as BEL, EIL, BPCL, HPCL, Oil India Limited, GMDC and MECON were part of the recruitment process, alongside multinational and private sector firms spanning technology, analytics, manufacturing, energy and infrastructure. Pre-final year BTech students also received internship offers.
