The pass percentage this year is 93.66 per cent. Last year, 93.60 per cent students had passed. CBSE Class 10 result is available at the official websites – cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, results.digilocker.gov.in and umang.gov.in. They have already declared Class 12 results.

The students who appeared for the exams can check and download their scorecards from the official websites using credentials such as roll number, date of birth, and school number mentioned on the admit card.

In addition to this, students will also be able to check their CBSE board Class 10 exam results on the DigiLocker, Umang mobile app and also via the IVRS system.

The CBSE Class 10 board exams were held between February 15 and March 18, 2025, in a pen-and-paper format. This year, 24.12 lakh CBSE Class 10 students took exams in 84 subjects.

Last year, the CBSE announced the Class 10 results on May 13. The CBSE Class 10th board exams were conducted from February 15 to March 13. In 2023, the results were released on May 12.

In 2024, total of 2,238,827 students took the 2024 CBSE Class 10th board exams, the overall pass percentage was 93.60 per cent, a rise of 0.48 percentage points from 2023. Over 47,000 students secured marks above 95 per cent, while more than 2 lakh students scored above 90 per cent. With a total of 20.9 lakh students passing the last year CBSE Class 10 exams, the girls outperformed boys with a pass rate of 94.75 per cent.

In the Class 10 exam, 24,420 boys and 18,001 girls appeared, out of which 23,454 boys and 17,579 girls passed.

In Class 12, 18,572 boys and 14,122 girls appeared. Among them 17,006 boys and 13,386 girls passed.

Students from Himachal Pradesh performed better than those from neighboring states, including Punjab, Haryana, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

In the CBSE Class 10 exams 2025, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) schools have topped registering a pass percentage of 99.49%, closely followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) at 99.45%. Independent (private) schools also performed well, registering a pass percentage of 94.17%. The Central Tibetan Schools (STSS) recorded 91.53%, while government schools achieved 89.26%, and government-aided schools had the lowest among the group at 83.94%.

Saanvi Pajni, a Class 10 student from Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh, secured an outstanding 499 out of 500, with a full 100% in four subjects.

Her preparation strategy was straightforward: she practised all the questions her teachers gave her, added a few extra, and made sure to revise. History and Geography were her biggest challenges.

Her study routine was entirely school-based, with only two to three days off in the entire year. A consistent student and a diligent worker, Saanvi said, "I just wanted to do my best."

In Class 11, Saanvi has opted for the non-medical stream and dreams of joining an IIT.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday said that it neither announces any merit list in Class 10 and 12 board exam results nor divisions are awarded to students to avoid any unhealthy competition.

Merit lists were also not announced in 2020 and 2021 because the board adopted an alternate assessment scheme since some or all the papers were cancelled due to COVID-19. The board permanently discontinued the policy in 2022.

A total of 17,04,367 candidates registered for the CBSE Class 12 exams in 2025. Out of these, 16,92,794 students appeared for the exams and 14,96,307 successfully passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 88.39%. This marks a slight improvement from 2024, when 87.98% of students passed the exams.

CBSE Class 10 results

After the release of the results, the board will conduct supplementary exams for students who fail in any subject. Candidates who are not satisfied with their results can also apply for verification of marks or result improvement. Those who wish to apply for verification of marks will be required to pay the applicable online fee per subject. 

The board examinations are to test the knowledge of the students gained during the academic year. If a student has secured 33 per cent marks, the student is declared pass. If any student is not able to achieve 33% marks and misses out by 01 marks or so, decision may be taken to award the grace mark(s).
