BHU professor appointed Central University of Gujarat vice-chancellor

The order issued Tuesday by the Ministry of Human Resource Development states the appointment for a term of five years from the date on which he enters the office, or until he attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.

Rama Shanker Dubey, Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Institute of Science at Banaras Hindu University, has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Gujarat (CUG). He will succeed Prof Syed Abdul Bari who joined as CUG V-C in August 2014.

The order issued Tuesday by the Ministry of Human Resource Development states the appointment for a term of five years from the date on which he enters the office, or until he attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.

Prof Rama Shanker Dubey is the second professor from BHU to take over as vice-chancellor of a University in Gujarat. Gopabandhu Mishra who took over as V-C of Somnath Sanskrit University in Veraval is also from BHU’s Department of Sanskrit, Faculty of Arts. He joined as V-C on September 24, 2018.
