No suicide note was found. The police, however, suspect that the burden of studies could have led Sagar Subhash Pimpalkar to take the extreme step.

“Pimpalkar’s family members told us that for the last few days he did not talk much, probably he was worried about his studies. We have registered a case of accidental death. Investigation is being done to confirm the cause of his death,” said inspector Rajendra Kunte of Nigdi police station.

His parents had gone out to buy vegetables and only his grandmother was at home when the incident took place.

“Pimpalkar was not involved in any dispute with family members. His parents also say he was not involved in any love affair. He was preparing for the Chartered Accountancy examination scheduled in May,” Kunte said.

Pimpalkar is survived by parents, grandmother and an elder brother. His brother works in Chennai.
