It proved to be a treat for theatre-lovers,who were audience to an experimental drama written by Vivek Bele and directed by Dr Girish Joshi. The 2 hour play titled- 90 Degrees Triangle speaks about social issues faced by elders in the society. Attended by the who’s who of the theatre industry the play-garnered rave reviews from stalwarts like Amol Palekar and Dilip Prabhawalkar who were amongst the audience.

The play throws light on the silent suffering of the elderly people and the calculative thinking of the younger generation. “The story sends out a strong message that while dealing with human and emotions one must think in terms of chemistry between them and not the calculations of profit and loss,” says Bele, who plays the main protagonist in the play.

Apart from Bele, the play featured veteran actor Dr Mohan Agashe and Ketki Thatte. The story showed clashes between the father-in-law and the daughter-in-law and a helpless son. Despite addressing grave issues like position of elders in the family and their treatment, the story moved smoothly with the right blend of all human emotions.

Speaking about his role,Agashe says,“Professions disintegrate the people, while plays and movies are the integrating factors in the society. I am happy to be a part of such a play that not only entertains but also sends out a message and makes people notice the various forms of evil in and around them.”
