District Collector Chandrakant Dalvi has taken steps to ensure good voter turnout in Bhor,Mulshi and Velhe areas, which have been identified as “difficult and inaccessible” in Baramati Lok Sabha constituency.

With these hilly areas being difficult to access,Dalvi has ensured that there are enough polling stations to make it easy for the voters to exercise their franchise.

“These areas have a difficult terrain and are thinly populated. We want to ensure that maximum number of voters turn up for voting,” he said.

These areas have also been given extra staff to monitor the booths and also help out the voters. The electronic voting machines (EVMs) were dispatched on Wednesday.

Dalvi said policemen will help the staff in these areas to ensure fair voting.

Once the polling is over, the machines will be brought back to the Shivajinagar godown and kept till May 16.

Dalvi said postal voting facility will be provided to the staff deployed at places away from their constituency.
