Pne girl Moksha Thukral registered a memorable win over top seed Rajshree Rathod 4-6,6-1,6-1 to lift the girls under-16 title at the All India Junior nationals organised by Pune Metropolitan district Tennis Association (PMDTA) and played at the MSLTA School of Tennis courts.
Second-seed Thukral is a standard IX student of Kendriya Vidyalaya,GaneshKhind. She practices at PYC Hindu Gymkhana under Hemant Bendre.
Fifth standard student of Symbiosis School,10-year-old Shranya Gaware upset fourth seeded Richa Chaughule 6-2,7-5 to lift the girls under-12 title. Sharanya practices at Deccan Gymkhana under Sandip Kirtane.
In the boys under-16 event,local lad Siddhant Banthia beat Piyush Salekar 6-0,6-1 to capture the title. Siddhant practices at Deccan Gymkhana under Sandep Kirtane. In the boys under-12 event seventh standard student of Navrachan School,Aaryan Zaveri outplayed Harshal Rukhiyar as he conceded the match 7-5,3-1.
The winners of the respective age-group titles received 15 ranking points each while the runners-up walked away with 12 point. Players who made the semi-final were also awarded 10 points each.
