The online exams will be held till March 20. For classes 3 to 5, the exams will be of 40 marks and, the paper will have MCQs of 10 marks, 15 marks weightage to descriptive, oral question.

The reopening started with senior students. Face-to-face classes for standard 1 to 8 have also been started in some KVs where state governments have permitted to open schools for junior grades.

The Kendriya Vidyalayas will conduct the session ending exam from March 1 to 20 of classes 3 to 11 in both offline and online mode. "Offline only for those students who don't have access to devices or connectivity related issues," KV notification mentioned.

Students in Classes 1 to 8 who have got E grade in final result may be promoted to the next class without any test. In normat scenario, such students have to appear for an improvement test.

The Centre had in August last year sanctioned 13 new Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country, two of them in Bihar. However, it had clarified in the proposal stage in 2017 that the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan rules did not allow seats to be reserved for local residents.
