The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 615.33 crore to the state government,out of its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF),for the development of roads and bridges,minor irrigation (MI),Kharland projects and construction of anganwadi centres.
Out of the total amount,around Rs 151.25 crore will be used for MI. The 6 MI projects to come up in two districts of Washim and Nanded aims at creating an additional irrigation potential in 6486 ha and giving employment to the tune of 100.47 lakh non-recurring mandays and 4.87 lakh recurring mandays besides contributing to agricultural productivity in the state.
A project of constructing about 142 roads and 26 bridges have been sanctioned in 7 districts amounting to Rs 346.31 crore which would cover 360.39 km of roads and 3205 metres of bridges connecting 603 villages,370 marketing centres,several tourist places and pilgrimage centres. This will help in creating a recurring and non-recurring employment to the tune of 83.45 lakh mandays.
With the aim of reclaiming saline land in the four coastal districts of the state to the extent of 4580.74 ha (ICA) and facilitating agriculture and cultivation besides helping increase livelihood opportunities and incremental income to the tune of Rs 884.51 lakh,Rs 32.74 crore will be spent on the Kharland Projects.
The construction of 2,223 Anganwadi centres in 33 districts across the state would facilitate construction of pucca structures for operation and storage for anganwadi centres. The investment of close to Rs 85.03 crore will be put towards constructing anganwadi centres.
