SPPU invites PhD applications from NET-qualified applicants
The PhD application form is available on the university’s website and the last day for filling it out is November 5, the SPPU circular stated.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the NET on behalf of the University Grants Commission twice every year in June and December. (Express File by Pavan Khengre)The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has invited online applications for PhD admissions from students who have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) held between August 21 and September 5 and appeared for the university’s PhD Entrance Test (PET) on August 31.
The last day for filling out the application form available on www.unipune.ac.in is November 5, the circular dated October 25 said. Students should opt for the ‘Apply for PET exemption’ option and a photocopy of the NET-qualified certificate will be required.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the NET on behalf of the University Grants Commission twice every year in June and December. This year’s exam in June was initially held on June 18 with over 9 lakh students appearing for it. But it was cancelled a day later after inputs from the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs saying that “the integrity of the examination may have been compromised”.
This led to the exam being re-conducted from August 21.
