Musical treat
Pandit Rajkumar Barshikar from Kirana Gharana is organising a musical evening for the art enthusiasts in the city. Apart from Barshikar’s classical music performance,the event will also have performances by renowned flautist Pandit Rajendra Kulkarni,tabla player Avinash Patil,Pandit Pramod Marathe on harmonium and Arun Bonkar on Pakhavaj. This musical treat will be held at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya on August 29,6 pm onwards.
Truly Thai
The Taj Blue Diamond is hosting a Thai Food Festival at Whispering Bamboo till August 30. But this isn’t an ordinary festival as the Royal Thai Consulate has joined hands with the hotel to promote Thai cuisine. The Consulate has arranged for Professor Siriseangphaiwan and Professor Phonganan to be a part of the food festival along with dancers schooled in traditional Thai dance forms. The professors are acclaimed chefs in their own right and have been sharing their expertise with the in-house chefs. With a new lunch and dinner menu everyday,including soups,salads,appetisers,main course and desserts,this festival is flavoured with true Thai tradition.
Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali enthralled audiences at the Symbiosis Viman Nagar Auditorium on Sunday at a concert organised by Routes 2 Roots in association with ICCR. He sang numbers like Tere Naina from My Name Is Khan,Mitwa from KANK and Bin Tere from I Hate Luv Storys
