The talent quotient
Cognizant is organising its innovative ‘High-Q’ initiative at SIMS,Range Hills Road,today. This event is aimed at students of Stds X,XI and XII,as it will encourage knowledge and creativity,make them aware of more career options and help them become true all-rounders. The highlights of the event are the inter-school quiz competition anchored by popular quizmaster Giri “Pick Brain” Balasubramaniam and an interactive session on “Higher education options” by Jayaprakash A Gandhi,noted career consultant and analyst. Thus,this initiative will work towards keeping students up to date with current affairs,and will provide them with the opportunity of interacting with students from other schools. The event is open to all schools and there are loads of prizes to be won.

Band it
Seems like popular bands have taken a real liking to the city. International band Infected Mushroom came to town on Thursday,and next in line is Indian Ocean which will perform at Hard Rock Cafe on August 5,and Midival Punditz which is all set to take One Lounge by storm on August 6. The latter provided some interesting beats and sounds for Karthik Calling Karthik,and even added their own flavour to the FIFA World Cup 2010. And now,they’re all set to cast their spell on Pune at the event organised by Dream Theatre Entertainment.
