It was evening that claimed the end of recession. And the one bearing withness to the end was designer Rahul Mishra’s Mishra’s haute coutoure . Upcoming designer Mishra showcased his latest collection,Reversing the Recession at Rudraksh in Aundh on Thursday. Mishra is a graduate of the National Institute of Design and a former MTV Youth Icon. His collection consists of unique garments, which can be worn inside out, thus making them reversible. Speaking on the occasion,Mishra said,” Need is the creator of Invention — is the context under which, this collection was born. Under the current economic scenario where most consumers have become a lot more conscious of their purchase decisions, and demand a lot more bang for their buck,we have had to create a line keeping this in mind. At a time when most people are cutting down on embroidery, using less expensive fabrics,we felt it was better to give the customer more value for their money, but at the same time, not take away from the special feel and look of thegarment. The reversible nature of these garments gives the impression of getting two for the price of one.”The highlight of the event was that the customers got to interact with the designer himself over high tea, getting to know him and finding out the motivation behind his work.
