Pune city police have come up with a traffic diversion plan to prevent congestion on Ganeshkhind road during the ongoing Metro construction work between Shivajinagar court and Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) junction.

Accordingly, the flow of vehicles on the Ganeshkhind road will be diverted as per the temporary traffic diversion plan on experimental basis from June 1 till further orders, said deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Rohidas Pawar.

A press release issued by Pawar on Thursday stated that construction of a porter beam at SPPU junction, relocating the water supply lines near COEP hostel and raising five new pillars for the Metro project are some of the works that are ongoing across the Ganeshkhind road.
