School education should provide all round development to the students,said state Minister for Cooperation,Marketing and Parliamentary affairs Harshavardhan Patil on Monday.

Patil was speaking at the valedictory function of the 14 th Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram Endowment Lecture Series organised by Maharashtra Institute of Technology.

There is a need to revamp the present education system as it provides bookish knowledge only. Instead it should take into its realm the universal values that can be helpful for all round development of a child, said Patil.

He also said inclusion of Yoga into curriculum to help students become physically fit and mentally fresh.

Abhinav Vidyalaya gets British Council award
Abhinav Vidyalaya English Medium High School bagged International School Award organised by British Council for inculcating internationalism in school subjects. School principal Jaya Bhaskar received the award at a function held in New Delhi on November 9 from Sally Coogin,director of education,British Council.

Abhinav student wins state award
Atharva Deo,a class 5 student of Abhinav Education Society’s English Medium School recently won a state-level award in drawing competition organised by Union Ministry of Power and Energy in association with NTPC. Around 1,200 students participated in the competition of which 13 were awarded.
