Graft: supply inspector held

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB),Pune,on Friday arrested 54-year-old Bhagyashree Chandrashekhar Patil,the kerosene supply inspector of Yerwada division,for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB),Pune,on Friday arrested 54-year-old Bhagyashree Chandrashekhar Patil,the kerosene supply inspector of Yerwada division,for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000. Balkrishna Garg (48),a real estate agent from Koregaon Park had lodged the complaint in this connection.

According to the ACB,Garg’s father Nanakram owned a permit to sell and stock kerosene. Garg submitted an application for renewal of the permit and also paid the required fees. On Wednesday,he came to know from the officials at the district collectorate that the permit has been renewed and that it had been sent to Patil. Garg approached Patil and asked for the permit. But Patil allegedly demanded Rs 2,000 from Garg for this. Garg then lodged a complaint against Patil at the ACB’s office. The ACB team then laid a trap at Patil’s office in Yerwada and nabbed her while accepting the bribe from Garg on Friday.
