Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan,who had in May decided to meet representatives of real estate industry at regular intervals to keep abreast of problems of the construction industry and find solutions,met officials of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI),Pune chapter,recently.
President of CREDAI,Pune,Satish Magar,stressed speedy approval of pending development and regional plans in the meeting. Treasurer Shantilal Kataria and secretary Kishor Wani were present in the meeting in which the Chief Minister asked them to prepare a detailed presentation of problems the industry is facing.
The presentation will be made to him soon,Credai said. Metros like Mumbai and Pune,along with cities like Kolhapur,Nashik and Aurangabad,should have a common development control rule,said Magar and urged that the DC rule with respect to all Urban Local bodies,Planning Authorities and Special Townships of the entire state be standardised.
He said availability of better infrastructure to encourage townships in MIDC areas will eventually decrease congestion in the city. An announcement needs to be made of a housing policy for developing 50 acres of township in these areas. The team requested Chavan to re-examine the strict parking norms of PMC. CREDAI officials had made a presentation on 25 topics and problems related to the construction industry in 2011 to the CM.
We stressed the demands and proposed various housing policies to the CM. These policies were welcomed by the CM and he has proposed to meet officials in one,three or six months. He assured the delegation that he will find solutions to these problems, Credai said.
