Three arrested for kidnapping 3-month-old

The Crime Branch has arrested three persons on charges of kidnapping a 3-month-old child from Mahim on March 23. Maqdum Shaikh,was reunited with his mother. While two of the three suspects were nabbed from Kolkata,one was arrested in Mumbai on Monday.

The police said Maqdum was kidnapped by one of his neighbours. The suspect took the boy,while his mother,who works as a domestic help,was at work.

The boys parents approached the Mahim police last week.

We learnt that two suspects,a man and his wife,were in Kolkata. We sent a team there. With the help of the local police,we arrested the two,Ali and Payal,and found Maqdum with them, said an officer. The duo were produced in court here and are in judicial custody. We learnt that the main accused,Jaggu,would be in the city on Monday. A trap was laid he was nabbed, said the officer.
