Man arrested,fake currency notes seized

The RCF police on Friday arrested a 21-year-old man for possessing fake currency notes. The man was arrested from Vashi Naka in Chembur where he had come to strike a deal.

“We arrested Majid Khan for carrying 35 fake currency notes of Rs 500 with him. Khan confessed to have bought the notes for Rs 5000 from Jalna and Aurangabad. He also said that he was to hand them over to a party. Khan claimed that he works as a waiter and had come to stay in Indira Nagar a month ago. The currencies look very authentic. If he had put them to use,he would have been able to spend Rs 17,500,” said Assistant Police Inspector Rajesh Kewale of the RCF police station.
