One of the most versatile garments in the wardrobe,a pair of jeans can be as basic as everyday wear to being effortlessly chic for a night spent club-hopping. While there’s no denying the power of the white-shirt-with-jeans combo in global fashion, the last decade has seen the denim undergo multiple therapies . It’s been stretched,coloured,bleached,stressed-out,recycled and even made water-repellent. However, giving it a luxurious spin is It’s My Life Jeans (IML Jeans),a new designer brand which makes premium bespoke denims for women using high-end fabrics sourced from the UK,Japan,Italy and Turkey. “Just as there are multiple fits ,there are body types. Our emphasis is on the essence of bespoke and in understanding for whom the garment is being made,” says the brand’s founder Aditya Singhal. The brand offers at-home service wherein post an appointment,a team led by a fashion consultant heads over to help customers choose from a range of fabrics, buttons, threads, fits and styles to create a piece uniquely their own. “One can choose from 10 different fits and more than 50 colours. The jeans are all handcrafted,” informs Singhal. It’s the colour palette that is noteworthy including the likes of plum, mustard, military green, coral and pink. Apart from colour, one can choose the styling and surface ornamentation. “We recently customised a pair where the client wanted a guitar design embroidered all over the front panel,” says Singhal. The bespoke service is currently available in Delhi and neighbouring cities and will be extended to Mumbai soon. A basic pair (lightly bleached twill denim with stretch and mild styling) will cost Rs 4,900.
