Citing from the Mahabharata, Fadnavis said, “After the Pandavs won against the Kauravs, there was a debate on who should be attributed the victory (Express)Attributing the victory in Maharashtra Assembly elections to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and karyakartas at the grassroots, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday called on party workers to get ready for local body elections with greater determination.
Speaking at the state BJP’s convention in Shirdi in Ahilyanagar, Fadnavis said, “Our battle is far from over. The local bodies elections are likely in three to four months. We have to remain alert and get back to preparations with greater determination to defeat the forces detrimental for development and national interests… Since the matter related to OBC quota in local bodies is infinal phases in court, I believe polls should take place soon.”
Reminding the party cadre not to lower the guards, the CM said, “The Congress, NCP (SP) and Shiv Sena UBT, along with anti-national forces created false narrative against us. In the Assembly polls, we put up a strong fight and countered them. But the fight is not over.”
Citing from the Mahabharata, Fadnavis said, “After the Pandavs won against the Kauravs, there was a debate on who should be attributed the victory. Some claimed it was Arjun, Bhim, Nakul, Sahadev… But ultimately it dawned on them that architect of the victory was Shree Krishna. Similarly, Maharashtra Assembly polls victory, should be attributed to Modi (Madhav) and Keshav (karyakartas).”
Adding that with huge victory comes greater responsibilities, Fadnavis said, “When you get power, it is not for comfort or celebrations. The purpose of power is to bring transformation in the lives of people through welfare measures. It requires sustained hard work and unwavering commitment. As I have undertaken the responsibility of good governance, BJP organisation should stand strong like the Himalayas.”
Terming Bangladeshi migrants seeking birth certificates in the state to obtain voting rights as “vote jihad part 2”, the CM said, “Bangladeshi infiltrators are seeking birth certificates in Maharashtra as part of vote jihad part 2. Nearly 100 such cases have been reported in Amravati and Malegaon tehsil in Nashik. These people, many aged around 50 years, are obtaining documents illegally. Not a single infiltrator will be allowed to stay in Maharashtra.”
Pointing out that the BJP has to set example of high standards, the CM cited projects such as river-linking and tackling drought in the 100-day plan of the government.
