Dey murder: Sisodia sent to police custody

Arms dealer Deepak Sisodia,who was arrested from Nainital by the Uttarakhand police for his alleged involvement in the murder of J Dey,was produced before a special MCOCA court on Friday and remanded in police custody till July 28. Sisodia allegedly provided a weapon and 25 bullets to Satish Kalia. He (Sisodia) had smuggled the weapon from Nepal, Special Public Prosecutor Dilip Shah said. The judicial custody of the other arrested in the case was extended till August 6.

Bail for youths held from hookah parlour

The youths who were arrested from a hookah parlour on Thursday were released on bail on Friday morning. The police had booked the 11 girls and 19 boys for allegedly consuming flavoured hookah under the Cigarettes and Tobacco Products Prohibition Act.

Techie arrested for raping baby-sitter

The Oshiwara police on Friday arrested a software engineer on charges of raping a baby-sitter. Police said the accused resides in Lokhandwala. The 31-year-old complainant alleged that he had raped her on July 5 when she was at his home. Police said the complainant,however,failed to answer why she had waited so long to lodge a complaint. Police said the accused claimed there was an argument between them for not increasing her salary,following which she lodged a complaint.
