In a cricket-crazy nation, even an Italian luxury brand has to take notice of the national obsession. Tod’s,which takes pride in the understated elegance of its products, launched ‘cricket bracelets’—My Colors Bracelets—on Thursday evening at it’s boutique in the Trident’s Galleria. The bracelets, which will be available on request, are fashioned to match each of the IPL teams. So whether you have a Mumbai Indians or Delhi Daredevils fetish, you can feed your frenzy here—provided you’re willing to shell out a cool 9,000 bucks (or thereabouts). Members of Mumbai’s swish set certainly showed some interest in the bracelets. The chief guests were cricketers Virender Sehwag and Virat Kohli (they were late and we suspect it had something to with Virat’s excessively gelled hair). Others, spotted sipping the champagne and munching the date and feta cheese canapes were Divya Thakur,Nachiket Barve and Mandira Bedi (we think she could do with a good hair cut now). Raell Padamsee’s floral slipons were a positive fashion crime and we hope she walked out with some Tod’s loafers. Food critic Rashmi Uday Singh,on the other hand, literally went wild with animal prints.

Bummer Virat and Viru kept the guests and the gracious hosts waiting for nearly two hours, before they decided to turn up. That’s just not cricket, boys.
