Akshaye Khanna files cheating complaint

Actor Akshaye Khanna,alleged that a Mumbai-based commodity trading firm has cheated him of Rs 50 lakh.

The Mumbai police Crime Branchs Economic Offences Wing (EoW) has launched a probe into a complaint by actor Akshaye Khanna,son of veteran actor Vinod Khanna,alleging that a Mumbai-based commodity trading firm has cheated him of Rs 50 lakh.

Satyabratu Chakravarty and his wife Sona,president and director of Intect Immediate Pvt Ltd,have been named as accused.

The complaint said the accused had taken Rs 50 lakh from Khanna. They had said they would invest it in the commodities market and repay him double the amount. Khanna paid them Rs 50 lakh in 2010. However,when they were unable to return either that amount or the amount he was promised,Khanna approached us, said a senior EoW officer.

After a preliminary inquiry,a cheating case was registered at Malabar Hill police station Friday. We are questioning the suspects, said the officer.
