Shark Tank India is back with its fifth season with a couple of new sharks but the show, so far, seems to have retained what works best for them – stories of homegrown entrepreneurs. Tuesday’s episode saw Varun Duggirala and Pooja Jauhari with their educational brand for kids – EMoMee. The pitch turned exciting after all five sharks offered them a deal and were actually competing with each other to get a piece of the pie. At one point, Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta got into an argument as they were both trying to partner with EMoMee.

Varun and Pooja, who hail from Mumbai, brought their brand EMoMee, a micro-story universe where they drop a new story on YouTube every day. These videos teach real-life skills to kids between the ages of 3 and 8 years. The couple asked for an investment of Rs 1 crore for 2 percent equity.

Varun also revealed that he has made content ecosystems for the biggest of brands for the last 14 years. Soon after their introduction, Aman Gupta walked up to the couple and greeted them. When Namita asked how he knew them, Aman revealed, “Glitch was one of the finest creative companies out of India. Our entire creative program, production, startegy were made by Varun and his team. I would not even know what I had to do, so Varun has been an integral part in developing BoAt in the initial phase.”

EMoMee founders – Varun Duggirala and Pooja Jauhari

With EMoMee, Varun has become a second-time creative founder. Varun and his partner, Rahul, started Glitch from a small room, and by 2017, it became one of the biggest creative agencies. Glitch got acquired by WPP in 2017-18. Varun’s wife, Pooja, was the CEO of Glitch. Pooja, on the other hand, began her professional journey at 15; at the age of 25, she became the Marketing Manager at The Times Of India. She became the CEO for Glitch at 27, and by the age of 35, she was the group CEO for Glitch and four other agencies. At 39, she started EMoMee.

Varun and Pooja have two kids, and when they became parents, they realised that kids have a lot more to learn outside of school. So, they decided to build an IP for the global audience with EMoMee. While their pitch impressed Anupam Mittal right from the start, others also loved the content they presented.

Pitchers’ YouTube content got 1.7 crore views in 28 days

During the pitch, Varun shared that they first focused on their content so the parents could trust them. Since April 2025, they have been posting one video a day. He shared, “At the start of April, we had 1000 subscribers, in August we had 1 million subscribers, and by November, they grew to 1.5 million subscribers. In the last 28 days, we got 1.7 crores views on their YouTube channel with a 72 percent engagement rate.”

They further shared that they are using data and AI smartly in creating the content. When Anupam asked them for a roadmap, Pooja shared that she plans to open an EMoMee play area in March 2026, followed by merchandise and toys. While Anupam disagreed with their idea of integrating the three S’s – Screen, Stage, and Shop under one roof, he said, “The 3S strategy is fantastic for management and investors. I think you should make the IP strong through YouTube. Add a pay wall to it and monetise the content.” While Aman opposed his idea, Anupam further shared that many global brands are doing the same.

Pooja further shared that while they initially spent Rs 30,000 for making a video, it eventually reduced to Rs 9,000. In three months, they will bring it down to Rs 1000.

Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta get into an argument over EMoMee

While Namita Thapar was the first one to make them an offer matching their ask; Aman Gupta, Kunal Bahl, and Mohit Yadav also dished out similar offers. Namita also suggested monetising their YouTube content better. Anupam criticised their strategy and said, “You’re still dabbling, haven’t figured it out yet. But I am so excited and passionate about this that I can’t really do this 100 percent. I have done it, I have produced films, built an IP store, so I’ll give you Rs 2 crore for 5 percent and work closely with you.”

Aman said that while content is king but “distribution is god,” and presented his case to the founders. Anupam interrupted, “Nobody knows better digital distribution in this country than me.” That’s when Aman took a jibe at Anupam and asked, “Why did some of your companies close down then?” In response, Anupam said, “Bhai teri toh naukri hi nahi bachi yaar. (Brother, you don’t have a job anymore.)” Aman recently resigned as the CMO of his company, days before their IPO.

Later, while Namita asked if they should do a five-shark deal, Aman refused and said, “I am not doing it, I don’t like him anymore.” Eventually, the pitchers gave a counteroffer of Rs 2 crore for 4 percent equity and bagged a deal with Namita and Aman.
