Royal Bengal Tiger cubs born in city zoo
After nearly 14 years,Lucknow Zoo celebrated the birth of Royal Bengal Tiger cubs. Four cubs were born to the pair of Ipshita (5) and Shishir (5) early on Sunday morning, three of whom were sighted on Sunday while the fourth,a white tiger, was spotted on Monday morning.

“The cubs are healthy. We are yet to ascertain their gender. The father of the female tigress,Ipshita, was a white tiger which explains the birth of the white tiger cub,” said Lucknow Zoo Director Renu Singh.

Ipshita and Shishir were brought here from Nandankanan Prani Udyan,Orissa in 2007. “We are constantly monitoring the health of the cubs and their mother. Ten kilogram of calf meat is being given to the mother every day.”
