A 14-year-old boy who had been reported missing on Thursday was found dead in Lucknow’s Ghazipur area this afternoon. The body of Pushpajeet Rai bore six stab marks.

Two persons,Saud Farooqui (19) and a 17-year-old,have been arrested in connection with the murder.

Pushpajeet’s father Lalit Rai,a resident of Gudamba area and manager of the Doon Inter College in Kalyanpur, told police that his son had gone to the LDA Stadium in the afternoon yesterday, but did not return home. The police later registered a missing report and launched a search operation.

“During investigation,we came across a man who claimed to have seen the boy with Saud Faroouqi. We picked Farooqui and he took us to the spot where Pushajeet’s body had been dumped,” said Sanjay Mishra,in-charge of Gudamba police station.

The duo reportedly told police that they shared a grudge against Pushpajeet’s father over some money dispute.

As Pushpajeet knew them, they took him to the picnic spot and allegedly stabbed him to death.
