Do and Dare

“The call I got from the production house asking me to come to audition for Khatron ke Khiladi Torchar was the best thing that has ever happened to me,” beams Shashvat Seth,a contestant from Pune at the reality show.

Model Shashvat Seth, one of the participants of Khatron Ke Khiladi 4,talks about the crazy stunts and the fall-outs during the shooting of the show

“The call I got from the production house asking me to come to audition for Khatron ke Khiladi Torchar was the best thing that has ever happened to me,” beams Shashvat Seth,a contestant from Pune at the reality show. The 23-year-old model can hardly stop gushing about the experience. “There was a face-to-face interview, followed by swimming, driving, physical endurance and medical tests,” he adds.

Host of the show, actor Akshay Kumar, promised to take stunts to a whole new level of difficulty . “All the participants were blindfolded and made to stand in a queue when Akshay came in,” he says. Seth’s partner throughout the show was model Alesia Raut. “All the stunts were to be performed as a team,” he says. “In our first stunt, one of my legs was tied to a horse and the other to Alesia who had to hit as many cones as she could while the horse dragged us along. This is when reality hit me. I had to compete with the other contestants, but the most difficult thing was the competition between my body and my mind. My body was in agony as it was being dragged by the horse but I had to concentrate on allowing Alesia to hit the cones,” he describes.

Seth also had a fall-out with one of the participants on the show. “During the head-on stunt in which another contestant Saurabh Roy and I were required to jump on cars and collect five flags each in the second episode,Saurabh caught my leg and dragged me down as I was about to grab my last flag so we got disqualified because we both had grabbed only four flags. Akshay (Kumar) had to intervene as Saurabh and I had a heated argument. During the second do-or-die stunt,I defeated Saurabh and he was asked to go home,” he reveals.

Seth is happy because people have started noticing him more after the broadcast of the initial episodes. “A dhobi who comes to the building next to mine came up to me one morning and told me that he saw me on the first two episodes of the show. He was confused to see me near my home as he had seen me on TV the previous night. I had to explain to him that the show is not a live broadcast,” he says. Seth is also looking forward to making his debut in Bollywood soon. “Khatron ke Khiladi is one of the biggest reality shows on TV. I don’t want to go on a reality show spree now. I am waiting for bigger opportunities,” he says with hope.
