The Bahujan Samaj Party rejected the BJP’s allegations that the Mayawati government was involved in numerous scams.

The Bahujan Samaj Party rejected the BJP’s allegations that the Mayawati government was involved in numerous scams.

The BSP alleged that the BJP,suffering from lack of issues, had stooped to pursuing politics with a bundle of lies.

Accusing the BJP of nursing an anti-Dalit mindset, the BSP said it was making baseless allegations since it could not tolerate a Dalit chief minister.

The BSP dared the BJP to release a status report on corruption in the states ruled by it. Party state president Swami Prasad Maurya said in a statement,“Instead of levelling corruption charges against UP Chief Minister Mayawati, the BJP should ask its chief ministers in Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh to mend their conduct and refrain from indulging in corruption.”

Digging into the past, the BSP leader said,“The people have not forgotten the approval granted by the 13-day BJP regime at the Centre in 1996 to the Dhabol power project in Maharashtra promoted by Enron,a USA-based MNC. The BJP leaders were then accused of receiving huge kickbacks from Enron and ultimately the power project collapsed.”
