The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Thursday alleged that the movie ‘The Kerala Story’, which has been banned from screening in West Bengal, is based on falsehood. Addressing a news conference, party’s youth wing president Saayoni Ghosh said, “There is no truth in The Kerala Story. It is based on complete falsehood. There is no fact. Why are movies not made on the Gujarat riots?”

Asked about the state government’s decision to ban the movie in Bengal, Ghosh said, “Aamir Khan’s movie Fanaa was banned in Gujarat when Narendra Modi was Chief Minister. Questions were not raised at that time. The state government here took a decision to banthe movie after felt that it could jeopardise the peace and harmony in the state. The movie Stalin was banned in Tamil Nadu. No one raised any questions. When it comes to Mamata Banerjee, everyone has to raise questions. This is mainly due to the fact that Mamata Banerjee is a factor in the nation’s politics after Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
