Rogue monkey attacks, injures eight

At least eight persons were injured when a stray monkey attacked them in Hrishitram of Burdwan district Thursday. Panic forced people to stay indoors, police said. The irate villagers staged a demonstration at the Purbostoli Police Station demanding capture of the animal. The forest department personnel were pressed to track down the monkey while beat officer Paramananda Mahato said efforts are on to trap the animal. The injured have been admitted in hospitals.
