What happens when the glamourous Princess Diana met Mahatma Gandhi? If you think they didn’t meet,you were clearly missing from the fashion show held at the Capital evening. Designers Parvesh Kumar Sharma and Jai Prakash Singh’s show,titled ‘Diana meets Gandhi’,presented a summer line of 35 outfits — kaftans,short dresses,a lime green jumpsuit paired with an embellished bikini,summery flowing robes in canary yellow and deep lilac. “We were inspired Diana and Mahatma Gandhi. We imagined how Diana met Gandhi and was inspired by the things that he epitomised,especially khadi weaving,” said Singh. The khadi appeared in patchwork on the gowns and towards the end,the models swivelled down the ramp sporting spectacles,in “remembrance of Gandhi”.
