Genelia D’Souza talks about life after Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

The girl-next-door appeal and a goody image after the smash hit film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na has probably landed Genelia D’

Souza a lucrative contract with a cola brand. In Delhi recently,D’Souza chatted easily about her dud debut ( she starred in Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003 that sank at the box office). “Yes,Jaane Tu..changed everything. I’m doing three new films now,” she says.

We tell her that she’s the seventh most Googled person according to the web browser’s 2008 India Zeitgeist List. “Am I? That’s exciting. I didn’t even know that until this moment, phew!” she grins. With a more successful career in Telugu films so far,D’Souza has now landed bigger Hindi movies — Abbas Mustan’s Life Partner with Akshaye Khanna,Anees Bazmee’s It’s My Life with Harman Baweja and David Dhawan’s Hook Ya Crook with John Abraham. A management student,a lesser-known fact about D’

Souza is her sporty side. A state-level athlete and a national-level soccer player,D’Souza says she could’ve pursued sports had her present career not chosen her. “I think films chose me instead of me deciding what I wanted to do. Maybe I would’ve pursued sports seriously if films hadn’t happened,” she smiles.
