More showers likely today

As predicted by the weatherman,there were light showers in the city on Thursday that interrupted the South Africa vs West Indies match at Feroz Shah Kotla for a brief while around 9 pm.

As predicted by the weatherman,there were light showers in the city on Thursday that interrupted the South Africa vs West Indies match at Feroz Shah Kotla for a brief while around 9 pm.

Light drizzle was witnessed in ITO,Connaught Place and India Gate. Some areas also reported hailstorms.

Friday and Saturday are expected to be cool,with a few spells of rain and thundershowers. Rain is likely to stop from Sunday and temperature will rise,ringing in summer.

The Met department attributed the rain to western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir.

Thursday’s maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 24.1 and 10.1 degrees Celsius,respectively. While the maximum was two degrees below normal,the minimum was 1 degree below normal.

“The weather on Friday will be similar. There will be shallow fog in the morning while in the evening there will be rain and thundershowers,” said an official at the Safdarjung Met Station.
