Illicit liquor seized

In a special drive against the trade of illicit liquor in the city, the Excise department on Sunday seized 1,644 bottles of liquor of different brands from various parts of Delhi.

Excise commissioner Neeraj Semwal said before Sunday’s seizure, the department, during several raids conducted at various places, had recovered 48,218 bottles of illicit liquor of different brands and cases were registered against the accused at different police stations.

The vehicles used in the crimes were also confiscated, Semwal said.
